Ribbon Reef No.9 Survey
Great Barrier Reef and Coral Sea Expedition: Survey 16
The Ribbon Reefs stretch over 100km of the outer Great Barrier Reef. Each reef is separated from the next by a channel; some are very deep, some are quite shallow. The channel between Ribbon Reef No.9 and No.10 (at the north of the ribbon chain) is one of the deeper ones and as a result is brimming with life.
This location has a great variety of marine life, large feeders like Barracuda, Dog-tooth Tuna and sharks swim with every colour of reef fish you can imagine. The corals in the area are fantastic too.
