Ribbon Reef No.10 Survey
Great Barrier Reef and Coral Sea Expedition: Survey 11
The Ribbon reefs are a chain of reefs stretching over 100km, one of the longest chains along the outer Great Barrier Reef. These reefs start near Cooktown and continue all the way north as far as Lizard Island, bordering the Coral Sea. The diving is fantastic with stunning drop offs, rich coral gardens and excellent drift walls.
Because these reefs lie at the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef they attract a huge array of marine life (and plenty of it is large). Most impressively, Minke Whales can be encountered on the eastern side of Ribbon Reef No.10 in June and July.
