Great Barrier Reef and Coral Sea Expedition: Survey 23
This must be the 'French region' of the Coral Sea; north of St Crispins reef is Agincourt reef, a particularly large cluster of reefs in the Coral Sea. The Battle of Agincourt was a major victory for the English over the French, the victory was actually declared on St. Crispins day in 1415. We guess that whoever named the reefs in this area is more a fan of Henry V rather than the defeated French commander.
And as for the reef, it's brilliant. Why else would there be a weather station, helicopter landing platform, permanent pontoon for divers and an underwater observatory out here!
