Aruba, the happy island, and the last of the three ABC islands we’ll be covering in this part of the Shallow Reef Survey. Aruba is a 33km-long island only 27km off the coast of Venezuela. Unlike Bonaire and Curaçao, Aruba does not have an official marine park or research station. Aruba’s more continuous reef system stretches along two thirds of the leeward side of the island. In addition it has many wrecks that are popular dive sites.
